Cookie & Similar Technologies Policy

This policy applies to ShopSwift, operated by ShopSwift Solutions, the registered business name in Kenya trading under the ShopSwift brand.

It explains cookies, local storage, session storage, tracking pixels and similar technologies used on ShopSwift websites and web applications.

Some storage is necessary to provide a secure, usable marketplace and does not depend on advertising or analytics consent.

• Authentication/security: NextAuth session and anti-forgery/security tokens. Exact cookie names may vary between secure and local environments.
• Marketplace location: shopswift_country, shopswift_currency and shopswift_lang remember the selected regional experience.
• Cart and core state: browser storage such as swiftmart-cart keeps the shopping basket available between page visits.
• Consent record: shopswift_cookie_consent stores your cookie-category choices so we can respect them.

Blocking essential storage in your browser may prevent login, cart, regionalisation, security or checkout features from working correctly.

Functional storage remembers convenience preferences such as interface choices, recent activity or other non-essential experience settings where those features are enabled.

You can disable the Functional category through Cookie Preferences. Essential country/language settings needed to serve the regional marketplace may continue to operate independently.

When you consent to Analytics, ShopSwift may measure site usage such as page views, searches and conversion activity to understand and improve the marketplace.

This can include ShopSwift's internal measurement endpoint and, where configured, Google Analytics. These analytics calls are gated by the Analytics consent setting.

When you consent to Marketing, ShopSwift may load advertising or measurement technologies that are configured for the platform, including Google Ads, Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, Microsoft UET and Pinterest Tag.

Marketing consent also permits ShopSwift to store an affiliate/creator attribution reference such as shopswift_affiliate_ref for up to 30 days when you arrive through an eligible referral link. This helps attribute a later purchase to the referring creator or partner.

Third-party providers may set or read their own cookies after the relevant consent is granted. Their processing is also governed by their own privacy notices.

The ShopSwift consent banner lets you choose Accept All, Essential Only, or customize Functional, Analytics and Marketing separately.

To demonstrate and respect your choice, ShopSwift stores a local consent record and may log the consent version, selected categories, timestamp, IP address, user-agent and country on our server. We use these records for compliance and preference management, not to force optional consent.

Consent is refreshed when the policy/consent version materially changes or after the configured consent period expires.

You can change optional cookie choices at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.

You can also delete cookies and browser storage through your browser. If you clear the ShopSwift consent record, the consent banner will be shown again.

Essential technologies are used where necessary to provide or secure the service and for other lawful operational purposes. Optional analytics and marketing technologies are controlled by the consent choices described above.

Where applicable law requires consent for direct marketing or non-essential tracking, ShopSwift requests a specific choice and provides a method to withdraw or opt out.
